What Is Speech-Language Pathology?

From Wikipedia:

"Speech-language pathologists (SLPs), sometimes informally referred to as speech therapists, specialize in the evaluation and treatment of communication disorders and swallowing disorders."

Often times, children who have speech disorders are those who have cleft lips or cleft palates, which is caused by abnormal facial development during pregnancy. An SLP helps these children develop their phonation, articulation, and voice during one-on-one sessions.
